This is the website of the WVU chapter of the AAUP. We began organizing in 2019 in response to political interference with our campus and a perceived lack of support from University administrators. We have recently begun a membership drive in response to shared governance and academic freedom issues arising from the Covid-19 pandemic. We believe that WVU faculty need a strong, independent voice to advocate for their interests, one that is not enmeshed with the University administration. If you agree, please consider joining our chapter.

Please read our most recent statement supporting the Faculty Senate’s resolution of no confidence in President E. Gordon Gee and Provost Maryanne Reed.
